ICM KANNUR - A PROFILE
Better known as the land of looms and lores, we proud to introudce
Kannur as the cooperatively developmed district in Kerala State. The land of looks has the fame with respect of the
concentration of Weavers' Cooperative Societies. In addition to this, Cooperatives are functioning in different sectors
like Credit, Dairy, Fisheries, Industries, Processing,etc. The fame received by this land can be attributed mainly to the
Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple, which attract hundreds of devotees every day. The St. Angeloes Fort, The Thalassery
Fort, Payyambalan beach, Ezhimala, the Capital of the ancient Mooshika kings, house of Gundert who composed the first
Malayalam-English Dictornary, Snake park, Moppila Bay, the natural fishing barbour, Kottiyoor, the 'Varanasi of the South',
Thrichambaram Temple, and Raja Rajeswara Temple are the places of attraction of Kannur. Undoubtedly, God's own
Country's northern region is really the appropriate location for a Training Institution to perform its responsibilities effectively.

The Institutes of Cooperatiive Management, popularly known as ICM, Kannur, is one among the 19 Institutes functioning
to cater the Training, Research and Consutancy demands of the Cooperative Sector. The Institute was established on October
2nd, 1992 with the primary objective to promote cooperative movement and infuse professionalism in management of cooperative
spread across the Kerala State. From the beginning, the Institute has been acting as a nodal agency for the various
training, research and consultancy needs of athe Cooperative Institutions and Departments in the State. It also serves as
a Think Tank to sort out the specific problems of the cooperatives in this region.

A high-quality education is one of the most important things that we can provide a personnel. Exposure to a variety of
management areas, techniques, and I.T. online business, all contribute to a fulfilling Business school
experience.
THE ORGANISATIONAL SET UP:
Administratively, the ICM, Kannur is functioning under the auspices
of the National Council for Cooperative Training, (NCCT), New Delhi, funded by the Ministry
of Agriculture, Goverment of India. Being the second unit in Kerala, it carries 50% of the budget cost from Government
of Kerala as per the norms of Government of India. The NCCT, the apex body for cooperative tr5aining, is responsible
for organizing;, monitoring and evaluating the arrangements for cooperative training for employees in the cooperative fold
through different Institutes.
